Wealth Without Wallstreet: A different Approach in Investing

I have read so many books that talks about how to manage your finances the right way.. Books like Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad,  Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,  Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich and other strategic insights/guides/how-to’s  that strongly suggests changing one’s attitude to  obtain your goals and become successful.. These books have similar ideas which focuses about positivity and getting out of your comfort zone. Although these books have inspired me to be goal driven and keep continuing to learn new skills,, I haven’t encountered a book that talks about investing  in a different approach. I mostly hear these multi-millionaire experts often suggests to invests your hard-earned moolah  on stocks and bonds (which makes a lot of sense but can be a risk)  until I read this book  Wealth Without Wallstreet by Robert San Luis,-an author and successful investor  and sought after real estate investment expert with a passion for leading driven individuals to achieving their dream of financial freedom.  I was invited to attend Mr Robert San Luis’ book launch at Fully Booked and I am so ecstatic to learn a few insights from this humble man.

I like his strategic ways when it comes to investing. He says that your success depends on the quality of information you receive and speed and ability with which you act on the information. Most people just plan and plan and plan without the full execution. I myself am guilty of this. Most Filipinos often settle for what they already have. A decent job with an acceptable salary (acceptable meaning as long as it provides food on the table, being able to buy our everyday necessities and such), being content with their achievements and never bothering to continue learning new skills, just because they think they have fully achieved what they desire and having the wrong concept of SUCCESS.

Robert’s Success Formula:

Quality Information +  Ability to Act + Speed of Action + Success

I can say I have been practicing this formula although not much when it comes to quality information. I have to admit that I need to allot more time when it comes to doing research in order to get all the information I want for my plans and goals. Sometimes, I resort to what I already know not even trying to dig a little deeper coz more often than not, there are still things that I need to learn not just settling for basic facts that I have gathered. I may need to adapt the skill of being thorough and keenness to details. My ability to act towards certain situation can be really fast but not armed enough to accomplish the necessary targets. So what i”m  going to do, starting from hereon, is that I’ll feed my braiin with as much information as i can gather from the interesting people I meet everyday,  Internet  books and other reading materials., I won’t be lazy this time.

I’m not the type to always think ahead. I have adapted  Eckart Tolle’s philosophy of “Live in the Now”.  I never thought about retirement, or if I’ll be financially stable when I reach the sexagenarian stage. My main motivation always comes from whatever is happening in the present moment. For me, thinking too much of the future only weakens my ability to be more focused in achieving my goals. Why? because planning too much can trigger stress hormones thus making you more anxious and I believe it affects  your thought process (well at least for me).

So, in order to make this book more useful to me is that I will take note of some factors and key points that Robert shared to us.. Learning how we can stop working and retire sooner with passive income, how to invest wisely  other than bonds and mutual funds. and how to make smarter financial decisions so I can have the retirement lifestyle I desire.

If you are like me who’s fueled with ambition at the moment, grab this book at Fully Booked and National Bookstore. This only costs 299 pesos.

Being a part of the the Philippine Tourism Bloggers

I am grateful to be  chosen as one of the bloggers to help promote Tourism in the Philippines and being part of the Tourism Promotion Board bloggers. We had a meeting with the COO Cesar Montano, an actor and a Film Director. It’s nice to know that the team wanted to get our inputs in promoting our country on a more “Millenial” approach. We kind of wanted to change the typical boring ads, promotions on TV,, in social medias and even print. I’m fascinated and impressed with Mr Cesar Montano not because he’s an actor and popular in the showbiz industry but the way he thinks and showing his creative side as he shares his plans promoting tourism with a different twist. I enjoyed watching the snippets of videos he showed us like the “Sultan Qudarat”. The short commercials of Cebu, Bacolod, Bohol and others soon to be finished.

There are so many plans already laid out for the Tourism Promotions Board.

Another awesome thing is that the TPB have come up with this new app called the SelPhilippines app where you get to access promos and discounts for hotels, food and even restaurants.whenever you are travelling. This will soon be launched anytime this year.

The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) exists to market and promote the Philippines domestically and internationally as a world-class tourism and MICE destination, in strategic partnership with private and public stakeholders to deliver a unique high-value experience for visitors, significantly contributing to increased arrivals, receipts and investments to the country.

The TPB is an attached agency of the Department of Tourism.

I think it’s about time we change how we view our country and appreciate it more. When you see how beautiful the commercials are, you’d really be proud that you’re a Filipino. It is indeed more fun in the Philippnes.

Light Network goes Digital!

Light Network channel 33 is achieving greater innovation as it begins its official broadcast on Digital Television this coming March 2017! Through this exciting breakthrough, viewers in Mega Manila will soon be able to experience a clearer and highly-improved video and sound quality of Light Network in their televisions. Once official broadcast begins, people can now watch Light Network anytime and
anywhere because not only will the channel be available on digital boxes and digital-ready televisions, but it could also be accessed through handheld devices such as tablets, smartphones and other
The “digitalization” is the process of converting our current Analog Television broadcasting into Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), which simply means that our existing television technology will be
transformed into an upgraded, higher quality of broadcast system. Through this digital improvement, Light Network will soon be available on multiple digital viewing platforms—broadening its horizon among the television programming sphere.
In an interview with Engr. Antonio Soriano, the Vice President of Technical Operations for Light Network, he said that he is excited for the upcoming Digitalization of Light Network, because the
channel had long since been prepared for this huge digital switchover. “Tayo ang unang nag-convert from Analog to Digital transmitter. Wala nang test -broadcast. Official broadcast na agad.” He also said that not all channels are ready to make the digital “switch”, making Light Network the first channel in the Philippines to migrate to the exciting domain of Digital TV, while maintaining its
frequency on Channel 33.
According to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), once the innovative technology of Digitalization is fully implemented, it would not only deliver better image and sound quality to our television channels, but it would also be able to provide features such as datacasting, multi-channel platform, One Seg, and most importantly, the Emergency Warning Broadcast System (EWBS), which is used to transmit nationwide warning announcements in times of earthquakes, tsunamis, or other
high-alert disasters. Engr. Antonio Soriano further stated that these features are just few of the many benefits of Digital TV. According to him, through the other upcoming advancements in Digitalization, television will finally regain its essential standing in the lives of people, as compared to the rising media usage for mobile devices. “Yes. Maibabalik ang TV bilang prime Media tool,” he concluded.

Love your Hair with Novuhair

The love month doesn’t just pertain to having a relationship with someone, it’s not just about going out on a date or stressing on what to give to your partner or dreaming about what to receive in return. The love month should remind us about everything and everyone we love.
Our parents, siblings or friends who stuck with you through thick or thin should form part of this special month. Loving yourself should not be set aside as well.

Take time to take care of your own appearance and since our hair is on top of our body, it is pertinent that we start with it. Here are a few tips in maintaining a healthy hair.
·        Observe good hygiene all the time – regularly wash your hair to remove dirt and grimes
·         Be extra careful whenever combing your wet hair – your hair is vulnerable to breakage during this period.
·       Use towel to dry off your hair after shower – Using hair dryer can cause damage to your hair; if you must use the heat then do so sparingly.
·     Eat the proper nutrition- Our hair is also dependent on what we eat. Iron-rich food and protein strengthens your hair.
·        Have enough sleep – Lack of sleep can cause hair loss. Sleeping allows our hair to repair and regenerate. Changes in our sleeping patterns have shown to affect our body’s immune and hormone function, as well as our physical and mental stamina. Our hair is very sensitive to these changes within the body.
·         Pamper your hair – Give your hair a proper massage with the nutrients it needs.
